"Indispenables of piano playing" was published during Abby Whiteside's lifetime. It was her most complete statement of the principles that make up her approach to learning piano. Later, some of her pupils gathered together her remaining manuscripts, and published them as "Mastering the Chopin Etudes." The essays in "Mastering the Chopin Etudes" communicate Abby Whiteside's complete analysis in the context of the problems encountered in performing these works. Currently both books are available together as one book entitled "Abby Whiteside on Piano Playing."
